The Institute Sponsors an Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO) Course

Kingston, NY (September 24, 2015) – The Institute for Family Health sponsored an Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO) course for family medicine residents in Kingston, NY on September 17th and 18th. Residents from the three (Harlem, Mid-Hudson and Beth Israel) programs participated.

The course, which is developed by the American Academy of Family Physicians, was directed by Dr. Megan McMullan and taught by a team of Institute family physicians. Course participants reviewed and drilled in the management of obstetrical emergencies. It was well attended by a diverse and enthusiastic group of participants, including attending family physicians, residents, community midwives and obstetrical nurses from the HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley.
