Senator Peter Oberacker visits Ellenville Family Health Center

Institute staff were delighted to welcome New York State Senator Peter Oberacker for a visit to the Ellenville Family Health Center on April 11, 2025. Senator Oberacker toured the health center and met with staff to discuss current policy issues relevant to community health centers.

In the meeting, the Senator met with Dr. Walter Woodley, Vice President of Medical Services; Susanne Callahan, Vice President, Planning and Community Engagement; Dr. Susruth Pinnamaneni, regional medical director for the Mid-Hudson Valley; Dr. Megan McMullan, Mid-Hudson Family Medicine Residency Program director; Latisha Kentop, associate director for social support; Krystal Perez, practice administrator; Jennifer Creeden, nurse manager; and David Bastien, a care navigator specializing in helping patients with substance use disorder. The staff spoke with Senator Oberacker about the urgent need for Medicaid rate reform, substance use prevention and treatment, community mental health and wellness, and strategies to further support health workforce expansion in the Hudson Valley.
