Professional experience & accomplishments

Dr. Victor Sta. Ana (pronounced “Santa Ana”) is a family physician, Medical Director of Homeless Services at the Institute for Family Health, and Director of Mount Sinai’s Primary Care Scholars Program for medical students interested in careers in primary care for underserved communities. Dr. Sta. Ana earned his undergraduate degree from Brown University with a concentration in Ethnic Studies. He subsequently earned a Masters Degree in Education and served as a Teach For America Corps Member teaching science and special education in NYC. He graduated from Albany Medical College and completed residency training at the Beth Israel Residency in Urban Family Medicine where he served as co-chair of the Curriculum Committee. After residency he joined the faculty of the then new Harlem Residency in Family Medicine. Dr. Sta. Ana’s interests include medical education, chronic disease management, care of people experiencing homelessness, LGBTQIA+ health, addiction medicine and medical acupuncture. Dr. Sta. Ana provides care at the Family Health Center of Harlem, the Broadway Presbyterian Church, and the Ali Forney Center.
