On the north side of Chicago, born and raised, on the playground is where Dr. Jeffry Mutuc spent most of his days. After attending college in Ann Arbor, he spent a year in AmeriCorps working for Habitat for Humanity International in their Youth Programs Department. With a passion for service and social justice he went back to the University of Michigan to receive an MPH in Epidemiology, and subsequently spent two years in Atlanta at the CDC to enhance his experience in the field of Public Health. Desiring to work more in the field of International Health, particularly in developing countries with resource limited settings, he spent two more years with the CDC in Cambodia. His research projects involved mostly studying HIV and STIs among Female Sex Workers. Dr. Mutuc’s professional interests vary but include sustainable global health initiatives, immigrant and refugee health, and LGBTQ health. His personal interests include hip-hop dancing, traveling, exploring the amazing NYC food scene, and spending time with friends and family.
