On October 8, 2025, Dr. Neil Calman, President and CEO Emeritus and Co-Founder of the Institute, was honored at VIP Community Services’ annual gala. The event’s theme, “Engaging the Community,” honored individuals whose dedication to service and collaboration has inspired lasting change in their communities. The other honorees included Commissioner for the New York State Office of Mental Health Dr. Ann Marie T. Sullivan and EmblemHealth Vice President George Hulse.

During the event, Dr. Calman remarked on the challenges health centers and other service providers are facing, saying, “Our Communities depend on us for their survival – and we must depend on our combined strength to assure our own survival as we move forward.”

Debbian Fletcher-Blake, President and CEO of VIP Community Services, is a former Institute primary care provider and a longtime partner and collaborator, and we extend our congratulations to her and her team on a wonderful event.
