Paul Francis Presents Grand Rounds on October 14th

New York, NY (October 7, 2016) — Paul Francis, JD will present the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health’s October Grand Rounds. His presentation, entitled “The Impact of Practice Transformation and New Payment Models on Primary Care Practices,” will explain how a variety of “practice transformation” initiatives (such as Advanced Primary Care, CPC+ and others) will impact primary care providers, New York State’s efforts in this area through the State Health Innovation Plan and other initiatives, how these efforts are expected to address Social Determinants of Health and how these efforts fit within larger healthcare reform efforts including DSRIP and Value Based Payments.

Paul Francis is the Deputy Secretary for Health and Human Services under Governor Andrew Cuomo of New York. Mr. Francis has served in senior positions for the last three New York State governors. As the senior person in the Governor’s office with responsibility for health and human services, Mr. Francis has responsibility for providing oversight of the health, behavioral health, and human service agencies in New York State.  Prior to entering politics and government, Mr. Francis spent 25 years in the private sector in a variety of financial and operating positions.

As part of the Mount Sinai Health System’s virtual campus, videoconferencing will be offered with the Beth Israel Medical Center’s Department of Family Medicine and the Mount Sinai-affiliated Mid-Hudson Family Practice Residency in Kingston, NY.

The event will be held from 8-9am on Friday, October 14th in Mount Sinai’s Hatch Auditorium in the Guggenheim Pavilion (1468 Madison Avenue), 2nd Floor. A light breakfast will be served at 7:30am.

Grand Rounds are open to all and occur on the second Friday of every month, September-June.
