Bronx Health REACH calls for end to Government shutdown as it poses a threat to public health

Bronx Health REACH was one of 280 New York organizations that signed on to a letter from Trust for America’s Health to President Trump and Congress calling for an end to the Government shutdown as it poses a threat to public health. Dr. Neil Calman, president and CEO of the Institute for Family Health, which leads Bronx Health REACH, said low-income communities of color will be the first to be hit by some of the cutbacks. He noted the stress caused by the uncertainty can also lead to health impacts.
