Valerie Soued, MD

Dr. Valerie Soued was born in Caracas, Venezuela. She moved to Miami at the age of 16 where she discovered her passion for different cultures and cuisines. She received a B.S. in Biology from Florida International University and completed her medical education at Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia. While in medical school, Valerie travelled to Panama and Nicaragua to provide basic medical care to communities with poor access to healthcare. These trips reinforced her desire to work with underserved and culturally diverse communities. For Valerie, Harlem’s diversity and scenery felt like the perfect location to advance her commitment to health promotion and the improvement of health literacy. She joined the Institute for Family Health because she was fascinated by the program’s philosophy and dedication to its diverse community.
