Olufemi Balogun, MD
Dr. Olufemi Balogun grew up outside of Philadelphia. In his pursuit of medicine (and attempt to distance himself from Eagles fans) he ventured to New Orleans, Louisiana to attend Xavier University. As a biology pre-medicine major and chemistry minor, he became active in community outreach programs and volunteerism. His desire to aid and mentor followed him into medical school at Howard University College of Medicine where he served as Minority Association of Pre-Health Students (MAPS) Chair for undergraduate students. After working in both Texas and Indiana, Dr. Balogun longed to return to the East coast and found Harlem’s multicultural and diverse population to be an ideal training environment. He is very enthusiastic about the Institute of Family Health team and making a positive impact in the community. Outside of medicine, Dr. Balogun enjoys playing sports and watching football (especially the Redskins), cooking, listening to music and spending time with friends and family. His special interests are in urgent care and community outreach.
