Nafila Kouba, MD

Dr. Nafila Kouba was born and raised in Algeria. She considers herself a native New Yorker by way of Brooklyn. She earned her medical degree from American University of Antigua. Dr. Kouba considers being a primary care doctor her highest calling. She likes that the Mid-Hudson residency program is more committed to full-spectrum family medicine than any other program. It’s a “jump right in and don’t be afraid to get your hands dirty” kind of place. Dr. Kouba plans to focus her career on underserved medicine, both urban and rural US and international. She also has interest in preventative medicine, practical evidence based medicine, critical care and procedures. Dr. Kouba is an avid traveler and enjoys learning about different cultures. In her spare time, she likes to read, hike and dabble in amateur photography.
