The Institute’s Zero Suicide Initiative used as Model by Epic Systems

Epic Systems recently used the Institute’s Zero Suicide efforts as a model or use-case for other healthcare organizations. The document, entitled “Preventing Suicides in Primary Care Settings” detailed how the Institute integrates mental health into the primary care setting. Our program has improved our ability to identify and track at-risk patients in Epic. This change has increased screening rates and improved the level of integration between our primary care and mental health services. Epic’s EHR is widely used by healthcare organizations across the nation. This is a concrete example of how the Institute’s work is being replicated for others across the country.
