Graduation season is upon us, and the Institute is celebrating!
We train a wide range of learners across many disciplines, including
doctors, nurses, social workers, medical students and our own staff to provide exceptional care in communities that have historically gone without high quality health services.
Our robust, unique health training programs:
- Teach Dedication: Our patients are at the center of everything we do. We teach our trainees how to provide empathetic care tailored to our patients' unique circumstances, and how to address the barriers that may stand in the way.
- Embrace Diversity: We believe that each community's health care workforce should have deep-rooted connections to the people they serve. We create opportunities for all kinds of people to explore careers in health care while also serving their community.
- Engage in Community Health: We teach our trainees to improve the health of entire communities, not just individual patients. Our trainees work with local organizations and participate in outreach and advocacy in both urban and rural areas.
- Use Experience and Science, plus Compassion: Our trainees learn how to combine front-line experience with a scientist's commitment to evidence-based medicine. And how to do it all with compassion for the people we take care of, every day.
